I even remember some Fil-ams in a column of Conrado de Quiros saying they were thankful NOT to be BLACK and a lot of them voted for McCain -- and despite all the good Obama's done, they still don't trust him just because he's black). I even have a niece who's cute as a button, and remember hearing how one STUPID woman commented on how she COULD HAVE BEEN CUTER if she wasn't DARK. What. The. Fuck.
Sa totoo lang, these days there's a growing number of things to be ASHAMED of about being pinoy.
If it weren't for people like, say, Efren Penaflorida, we'd have a lot less redeeming qualities as a people.
Underneath the charming, hospitable, carefree veneer, a lot of us are brought up to hate who we are and love everyone else. It's amazing that a growing number of pinoys can be as disgustingly racist as the most ignorant redneck, and I truly find that sad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7510366480931064584.post-84773714801988693822010-01-20T02:41:53.730-05:002010-01-20T02:41:53.730-05:00Personally, I love my melanin rich caramel colored...Personally, I love my melanin rich caramel colored skin. For one, it gives me a natural protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays. I love the fact that I don't have to worry about getting skin cancer, something that people with white skin are prone to. So I never have to dread the sun whenever I take long walks or go to the beach. In fact, I never dread the sun at all. Everything in moderation, of course :-)

Plus, you don’t have to work so hard to have a healthy, perfect tan when your skin is naturally colored. And a good tan looks beautiful on anyone, in my opinion. There’s this happy ‘vacation’ feeling associated to it.

The best part is that there is no expensive maintenance. It’s practically wash and wear. Just the way I like it :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7510366480931064584.post-45009315351068443792010-01-20T00:03:41.321-05:002010-01-20T00:03:41.321-05:00I got dark brown skin, but I like to make it like ...I got dark brown skin, but I like to make it like caramel soft brown skin and the safe whitening sublingual spray works for me. But when I achieve the shades of caramel brown I stopped using the whitener products. Now I got a more finer, light tanned skin which is very nice for me. It also leaves my skin unblemished, soft and refined.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7510366480931064584.post-41785771179075061912010-01-19T15:47:04.837-05:002010-01-19T15:47:04.837-05:00This is just so wrong. They go to tanning salons, just so they'll get as brown as I am. I told my husband who's a Caucasian that most Filipinos use creams to whiten their skin and he's just increduluos why we even want to do it because we are blessed with such a wonderful color.
JSAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7510366480931064584.post-44062070136924593222010-01-18T17:52:15.276-05:002010-01-18T17:52:15.276-05:00also, porcelain white chinese women shun away from...also, porcelain white chinese women shun away from the sun so they won't be badged as pheasants or farm women w/ uneven tones. white people want to get darker. we're not comfortable w/ our skins. we like to be different from ourselves.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
